Project Description

Shortcuts manager
Project resources

With the shortcuts manager gadget you can launch one or more applications, with or without parameters using shell commands. You can assign a remote control button to an application so you have faster access to your favorite applications or media.

To add a shortcut, open the gadget window and select the 'add' button. Then give a name to identify your shortcut, specify the remote control button you want to use and give the command you want to execute.

You can also add parameters to your shortcut. For example: 'gedit /home/user/Desktop/test1.txt /home/user/Desktop/test2.txt' will open gedit with the two specified files.

You can make a more complex shortcut that makes several applications start at the same time. This can be usefull to assign your frequently used applications to a single button of the remote control:
'thunderbird | firefox http://www.slashdot.org | xmms -p | pidgin'
