Tuxsetup 1.2 (Beta release)

This is not a final release. Experimental releases should only be used for testing and development. Do not use these on production sites, and make sure you have proper backups before installing.

This release has added support for several new gadgets and has some new features, like a firmware updater wizard and voice recognition to control the manager.

  • Fixes and improvements:
    • Fixed a problem with the Gadget Manager not closing correctly, avoiding the manager to restart properly.
    • Improved and more stable Gadget Maker.
    • Removed the description part from the gadget settings window and placed it in the right click menu for every gadget.
    • Gadgets can now be installed by dragging them from the website downloads page and dropping them in the Gadget Manager.
    • The radio connection status is now displayed in the Gadget Manager.
    • A menu has been added to the Gadget manager, to access the Gadget Manager configuration, debugger and firmware update wizard.
    • Gadget priority system has been added for to avoid conflicting notifications.
    • All icons have been updated.
    • Several other small tweaks in the graphical user interface of the Gadget Manager.
  • New content and added support:
    • A firmware updater function has been added to make updating the firmware easier. This is especially important as the new tuxsetup requires the user to update all the firmware.
    • Added support for Tux hardware monitor gadgets in the gadget framework and Tux Droid daemon (battery monitor gadget, light gadget, ...)
    • Voice recognition function has been added function. This let's you record voice commands to make it possible to control you gadgets with your voice.
    • Text parser has been added to the gadget framework. This with upcoming gadgets in mind like a RSS reader to filter out rubbish text and characters.
    • Debugger function had been added. This will be quite useful as this release is a beta, and will also make it easier when debugging self-made gadgets.
  • New firmware, some major improvements and new functions:
    • Added battery level measurement.
    • The light level measurement has been improved.
    • Small noises in the speaker when switching Tux Droid on should be gone.
    • Tux continues to work when local sounds are played.
    • Fixed some bugs with the leds and the eyes movements.
    • Flipper movements have been improved.
    • The accuracy of the spinning step has been improved.
