A new how-to is created for the Gadget Manager that comes with tuxsetup 1.3-rc1. Several new features were added to the manager like the Controller and Audio flash Tool, replacing the tuxgi.
1. Requirements
To get the Tux Gadget Manager working, you already should have done the following:

Installation of the TTS voice files: currently only English (UK & US) and French are supported in the Gadget Manager.
- The only additional thing required is updating the firmware and reflashing the internal sound flash in Tux. A firmware updater wizard will pop up upon the initial launch of the Gadget Manager.
2. Using Tux Gadget Manager
2.1 Starting the Tux Gadget Manager
In the menu bar look for the Tux Droid Icon in the Accessories map. If for some reason you can't find it there, launch it directly from a terminal window:
tuxgdg
If this is the first time you start the Gadget Manager the Firmware Updater will detect the firmware in Tux Droid is outdated. Please follow the Firmware Updater wizard instructions carefully and your Tux should be reflashed in no time.
2.2 The Gadget Manager GUI
Everything is now setup and updated! Let's check out the Gadget Manager.

Taking a closer look to the right-click menu of the gadgets you will find the following menu items:

When selecting "Options" in the Tux Gadget Manager menu you have the following menu items:

2.3 The remote control and the Gadget Manager
The blue arrow is controlled with the remote control, When scrolling trough the gadgets Tux will say the name of the selected gadget. Buttons of importance are described below:
2.4 The Gadget Manager tray icon
When the Gadget Manager is running a tray icon will be visible in the menu bar in the upper right corner.
- Tray icon:
- Left-clicking the little Tux head will show/hide the Gadget Manager GUI on the desktop.
- Blue eyes indicate the daemons are running ok. White eyes indicate the daemons are not running and the Gadget Manager will not work.
- Tray icon menu:
- Clicking "Show manager" will show/hide the Manager GUI just like when you left-click the tray icon.
- Select "Quit" to exit the Gadget Manager completely.
