This How-to applies to: Any version.
This How-to is intended for: End User

The Gadget Manager is included in the tuxsetup package and is an easy to use graphical interface to access Tux functions. This guide will explain what you need to run the Gadget Manager and how to use it.

1. Requirements

IMPORTANT: If you have installed tuxsetup1.3-rc1 please continue here.

To get the Tux Gadget Manager working, you already should have done the following:
  • The only additional thing required is reflashing the sound chip in Tux Droid. This will add several interface sounds that are used by the Gadget Manager. Reflashing the sound chip is quick and easy with the tuxgi.

First make sure your dongle is connected and your Tux Droid is switched on. The LED's in both the dongle and Tux should be lit before continuing.

From a terminal window enter:
tuxgi
The tuxgi window will pop up. Next select the "Audio" tab.

  • Step 1: Check the "include original" check box as indicated in the screen grab above.
  • Step 2: A list of 16 wave files will be displayed on the left.
  • Step 3: Click the "Store"  button.
Reflashing the sound chip takes around 30 seconds. You can follow the process in the tuxgi:
Sound storing : Erase flash
Sound storing : Indexes
Sound storing : Record
Sound storing : Storage done.
