How often do you restart your Tux
Up to General discussion
Hi,
My Tux is not in the same room as the computer, so I like to use it for email notification.
I keep it on and plugged in all the time, my problem is that almost every day I have to restart it because it's unresponsive. I was not too sure if it was a gadget problem, so I've kept the gadget manager off for few day and I still have the same problem.
So how often do you restart your Tuxes?
I'm sure it's Tux because if I press keys on the remote the eyes don't blink anymore.
If I restart the gadget manager and/or the daemon it doen't help, but if I restart Tux without restarting the gadget manager everything goes back to normal for another day or so. Most of the time it seems to be durring the night that it stops working, but sometimes it's up for 3 days so it's probably irrelevant. I think I'm at the latest firmare because the gadget manager tells me it's already at the latest version and there's a file tuxdroid-firmware-hex.0.3.1.tar.gz in /opt/tuxdroid/firmware but I'm not to sure.
I did update it once when I installed v0.1.2, but I don't remember exactly when so I don't know if 0.3.1 was out or not.
I should be able to look at that issue. I'm now working on an imroved internal communication scheme between the CPU's as there are some problems with the I2C multimaster mode with the Atmel MCU's. I'm doing that for the production versiopn but as soon as it's stable, I'll try to do that test for a couple of days to check if that's the issue or not.
