Price Hike?

Posted by ScaredyCat at December 11. 2007

I've been planning on getting myself a tux droid for a little while now and have just noticed the price has jumped by 20 Euro. Is there any particular reason for this or are you just cashing in on the Christmas rush?

Tux is now available through ThinkGeek and Firebox and so Kysoh had to align its prices, that's it I think.

Sorry, I beg to differ.

1) Firebox are adding nearly 57% to the original price so quite frankly deserve to be ignored.

2) ThinkGeek are selling for $99.  - $99 != 99 EUR in fact $99 is just over 67 EUR which is actually below the original price.

Geez, that's true, firebox prices are very high. I'm not a commercial or maketing person and don't really understand all these stuff but basically I was told it's a common practice to have the same number for prices in EUR and $. I don't know where that comes from. But indeed it sounds more interesting to order it through ThinkGeek then. There should be something wrong somewhere.

You're right, often prices are in the form 1USD = 1EUR = 1GBP - which is clearly just wrong even taking into account shipping and import duty. In this instance it's worse to see the 1USD = 1EUR because the $ is tanking at the moment (and has been for some time) and the face that a week ago they were 79 EUR.
