Problem radio connection
Up to General discussion
Hi,
I have a problem with my new tux.
Sometime it correctly works (only 3 times after lots of try) but generaly I have no radio connection beetween Tux and the fish.
When I connect the USB fish dongle, the eyes blink
slowly.
I swith on Tux, he said "hello" but the LED in the USB dongle continue to blink
slowly !
Tuxd and tuxttsd correctly work (OK in tuxgi) but the radio connection is already off.
I think firmeware is OK :
$ tuxup --all /opt/tuxdroid/firmware
Programming /opt/tuxdroid/firmware/fuxusb.hex in the USB CPU

The problem is maybe dfu-programmer but I don't ealy know.
If you have an idea

Thank you
- Plug the dongle to your USB port while pushing the little button in the dongle belly. You will find a small hole next to the programmer cable port.
- The dongle eyes should not blink after connecting it to the USB port.
- From a terminal, enter "tuxup fuxusb.hex", and see if you still get that interface error.
- Replug the dongle and check if your RF connection is working as it should.
I have already try but no result :
damien@desktop:/opt/tuxdroid/firmware$ tuxup fuxusb.hex

The RF connection is already down

that's OK, the programming has been done correctly, it's just that when restarting the application, you get that error and I don't know yet what's wrong. Only dfu-programmer and the Atmel bootloader come into play at that time so it's either a setup issue or something with dfu-programmer.
So don't worry for that error. The programming of all firmware seems to be OK. Someone reported that same kind of problem on IRC last week (you maybe?), his tux was usually not connecting to the dongle, but sometimes it starts for a while, then disconnects without reason. I couldn't figure out what it was at the end. So better return it if you can't get anything working.
