0.5.0 firmware update
Up to General discussion
Hi,
I just released the 0.5.0 firmware. This doesn't bring any functionality change but improves stability. This is a major refactoring work.
This is not a recommended update as most of you won't notice the difference but for those that want to leave their tux turned on all the time, this is a great version. As this is a major refactoring, I'd like to hear from those that will install it.
This firmware is postfixed with "-libusb" as the next version will be changed to HID. But as the software that handle HID are still not released, I still compiled for libusb.
Because of the postfix, the firmware updater doesn't handle it so to install, follow the procedure below.
INSTALL:
-------
- download the package from http://www.tuxisalive.com/developer-corner/software/official-firmware-files/releases/0.5.0-libusb/tuxdroid-firmware-hex.0.5.0-libusb.tar.gz
- untar the hex file
- cd tuxdroid-firmware-hex.0.5.0-libusb
- set your tux in bootloader mode(*)
- tuxup fuxusb.hex tuxcore.hex tuxcore.eep tuxaudio.hex tuxaudio.eep
That's it.
(*) To set your tux in bootloader mode, connect the white cable and keep the head button pressed while turning tux on, the left blue led should be turned on alone.

===================
I am one of those interested in leaving the Tux on all day and make it do things automatically so I am really excited about this update.
Presently on vacation I will install it as soon as I will be back home.
Regards
Michael
