Dirt cheap computer to run TuxDroid ?

Posted by nijaba at March 05. 2007

I think it would be cool if the daemons/apis/apps could be installed on a dirt cheap computer such as the Lynsys NSLU2 so that we could have a low power-always on-dirt cheap computer to control the penguin.  I'll start looking into it, but help is always welcome :)

I bought one myself too but still didn't find the time to try it out. I need to update the general documentation first anyway. But I'd be glad to participate in checking this. Whenever you start, you can add a forum conversation dedicated to that and I'll join.
What distro do you use on your slug?

Hello,

I am also planning to use Kysoh that way, but current Debian installer for NSLU2 is broken :

Hi,

I have been trying to get tuxd and tuxttsd working on the Soekris platform. I tried on a 4501 and a 4801. While both worked half way, they both proved to be a bit slow. While on the 4501 speech was very shaky and stutterish, it was almost good on the 4801. But I still think you need some more juice to power the boxth daemons, while the 4801 specs seem to be close to beeing enough.

Hope this helps somebody.
