Using gadget manager with tux buttons

Posted by Doum at January 05. 2008

Hi,

I think it would be nice if the gadget manager could be use with the buttons (head, wings) instead of the remote. Usually tux is close to me and I don't like to take the remote to select the gadget I want. I know there's the voice recognition now, but I still would rather use the button to activate it.

So here's my first thought:

  • If you press the left wing it goes to the next gadget.
  • If you press the head button it activate the gadget.
  • If you press the right wing it tells the current gadget name (or goes to the previous).
  • The buttons could also be enable/customize in the manager options.

Thank you for your nice work so far.

I suggest that:
If the left wing pressed ,it goes to the next gadget and Tux speaks name of the gadget.
IF the right wing pressed ,it goes to the last gadget and Tux speaks name of the gadget.
If the head button pressed , the gadget is launched.

Maybe we need a head "double click" to differentiate with the voice activation function, or we click both wing to enter in button control mode.
