I purchased my tuxdroid at oscon 2 days ago, having had a few hours to sit with it I have started to knock together something I am called  CarlKasellJr, a rss reading qidget. The grand idea is that at regular intervals the widget would read the top stories on the rss feeds I try to keep up with thus freeing my hands to change diapers and code. So far I have the libs to parse the rss and have gotten it to read me one feed. I will post up my code when I get it a bit robust.

Is anyone else working on a widget like this? I would hate to be reinventing he wheel.

Before I loose my mindthread I am going to post up what I have so far, its rough but it works  well for reading off the headlines....the meat of the items are being a pain thanks to folks stuffing html into every nook and cranny ..so i need to add in some html strippers in order for the thing not to sound garbled with code. Once i can do that i will add in the description as well.

Im using the amazingly useful http://feedparser.org , you will need it for this to run.

If anyone has any input or thoughts post em on up.

we can't read european characters...

Sorry for the delay in posting a reply ... I think it might be a unicode issue. I will try to take a look at it soon.
